Factory
Service controls for Aeron staff. The station's internal service logs, and the RS232 service console.
The Factory page holds service controls that Aeron staff use to look into a station that misbehaves. The page itself says it: changes here affect the station's behaviour directly.
Who can open it: Factory only. Anyone else who reaches it sees "Access denied".
Daemon Logs
The station runs a set of background services (daemons): one for each kind of data source, for logging, for uploads and so on. This card lists them, one per row.
| Column | What it shows or does |
|---|---|
| Daemon | The service. |
| Process | Whether the service is running and doing its work. |
| Logging | Whether the service writes log files. Takes effect within about 30 seconds of saving, with no restart. |
| Last Log | While logging is on, when the service last wrote to its log. A time that keeps growing means it is idle or stopped. |
| Level | DEBUG, INFO, WARN or ERROR: how much detail goes in the log. |
| Debug Flags | Extra detail switches, where a service has them. |
| Action | Restart restarts that service. Clear deletes its log files. |
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Save All | Saves the logging settings of every row. |
| Restart All | Restarts every service, after you confirm. Expect a gap in the data of about 5 seconds. |
| Clear All Logs | Deletes every service's log files from internal memory and the SD card, after you confirm. Cannot be undone. |
Detailed logging uses storage. Turn it back down when the investigation is over.
Serial Console (RS232)
The station's RS232 port can be either a Modbus port or a service console.
| State | What the port does |
|---|---|
| ON | The port is a service console, for start-up messages and recovery. |
| OFF | The port is free for the RS232 Modbus master or slave (normal use). |
Turn ON and Turn OFF switch it, after you confirm. Turning on RS232 Master or RS232 Slave on the Modbus page switches the console off by itself.
