Step-by-step guides for common jobs on a DALI station, from signing in to sending data to your own cloud.

Each guide does one job. It says which role you need, what to have ready, the steps with the exact labels you will see in the console, and how to check it worked. For what a setting means, follow the links to the Interface guide. For why things work the way they do, see Concepts.

Firmware 4.1 and later

Some steps only apply on firmware 4.1 and later. They are marked. Most stations in the field today run firmware 4.0.

Getting in

Sign in to a stationUse the access code from the Live3 app, an access link, or Continue with Live3.

Request accessAsk the station's owner for access, and approve a request.

Open the console on siteReach the console while standing at the station, with no other network.

Networking

Connect to Wi-FiJoin the station to a Wi-Fi network.

Set a static IPGive the Ethernet port a fixed address.

Use the hotspotStart the station's own Wi-Fi and join it.

Set up cellularTurn on the modem and enter your SIM's APN.

Recover from a bad network changeGet a station back after a network setting cut it off.

Sensors and parameters

Add a Modbus sensorPoll a Modbus device and log its readings.

Import Modbus queries from CSVSet up many Modbus queries at once from a spreadsheet.

Add an SDI-12 sensorAddress an SDI-12 sensor, query it and log its values.

Set up an analog channelWire a voltage, current, millivolt or PT100 sensor.

Create a parameterTurn a reading into a named, logged value.

Add a calculated parameterLet the station work out a value such as dew point.

Bulk edit parametersChange sampling, scaling or Modbus format on many parameters at once.

Record sensor calibrationKeep serials and calibration dates in the Sensor Inventory.

Data

Download dataTake raw or logged data off the station as CSV files.

Send data to your cloudAdd a destination such as a webhook, Azure, AWS, MQTT or SFTP.

Maintenance

Set the timeChoose time sources, the time zone, or set the clock by hand.

Update firmwareInstall a signed release that Live3 has sent to the station.

Allow remote supportLet Aeron support reach the station for a set time.

Copy a configuration to another stationSave one station's setup and apply it to others.

Reboot the stationRestart the station from the console.
