Stations and the console

How you reach a station's console, how the console is laid out, and what changes with your role and your screen size.

Every station serves its own console. There is no central server in between: when you open DALI, your browser is talking to the station.

Ways to reach the console

Where you areHow you get there
On the same network as the stationOpen the station's address in a browser, for example the address shown by your router or set as a static IP.
Standing next to the stationJoin the station's own Wi-Fi hotspot and open https://192.168.4.1. See Use the hotspot and Open the console on site.
Anywhere, through Live3Use Continue with Live3 or an access link from Live3. You still need a network route to the station.
Aeron support, remotelyOnly while you have remote support turned on. See Remote support.

The console is served over HTTPS. The station uses its own certificate, so the first time you open it your browser may warn that the certificate is not trusted. That is expected for a device on your local network.

Once you reach the station you sign in. On firmware 4.1 and later every way in goes through your Live3 account; there is no station password to type. See Roles and access and the Sign-in page.

How the console is laid out

The console has a sidebar on the left, a top bar, and the page you are on.

The top bar shows status icons (Wi-Fi, cellular signal, GPS, SIM, SD card, cloud upload), the station clock and your account menu. See Top bar and status.

On a phone the sidebar becomes a bar at the bottom of the screen with five buttons: Home, Data, Sources, Params and System.

Your role decides what you see

The sidebar only shows the pages your role can open. A User sees the Dashboard and Data output. An Admin sees everything except Commissioning and Factory, which are for Aeron staff. If you follow a link to a page your role cannot open, you are taken back to the Dashboard. The full list is in Roles and access.

Sessions

You stay signed in while you work. After 30 minutes without any activity the station signs you out, and you sign in again with a fresh code or link. Changing the station clock does not sign you out early, because the idle timer does not use the clock.
