Copy a configuration to another station
Save one station's setup in Live3 and apply it to other stations, choosing which parts to send, with a way back.
Goal: other stations get the same setup as one you have already configured (sensors, parameters, uploads), and each one can be put back if needed.
This is done in the Live3 app, from the station's Configuration drawer. A copy always starts from a saved configuration, so you can name afterwards exactly what was sent.
Status as of 29 Sep 2026
The configuration tools in the Live3 app are new and still being tested. If your app does not show Configuration on a station's page, contact Aeron support.
Before you start
- Access to the source station and every target station in Live3, in the same organization.
- The source station fully set up and checked.
- Decide which parts to copy. Network settings, calibration and station identity are separate switches, and are usually left out: each station keeps its own.
Steps
- 1
Open Configuration. In the Live3 app, open the source station and then Configuration. It shows what the station runs now, with a short fingerprint so you can compare two stations at a glance.
- 2
Save it. Under Saved configurations, tap Save from this station. If nothing has changed since the last save, the app says it is already saved instead of making a copy.
- 3
Copy it. Tap Copy to other stations and work through the three steps: which saved configuration, which stations, and which parts. Give it the name it is kept under in the library, then confirm.
Before a configuration is written to a station, its current setup is saved first, so it can be put back. On site with no signal, the app keeps that copy on the phone and sends it to Live3 later.
Check it worked
Open Configuration on a target station: its fingerprint matches the one you copied. The station's history under Saved configurations shows the change.
Put a station back
On the station's Saved configurations, the history lists what it was running each time it changed. Pick an earlier one and load it back. A whole copy to many stations can also be undone in one action; stations someone has reconfigured since, and network settings, are left alone.
If something goes wrong
- The station refuses the configuration. The app shows the station's own reason. Fix it and send again.
- An empty configuration cannot be sent. The source station has not reported its setup to Live3 yet. Wait until it checks in.
- A new station has no earlier setup to go back to. The app says so before you send.
Station console export
The console's Import / Export Configuration card, on Device, System tab, is for the Factory role, used by Aeron during production and support.
