Bulk edit parameters
Change sampling, scaling, precision or Modbus and SDI-12 settings on many parameters in one go.
Goal: the same change is applied to several parameters at once, leaving everything else about them as it was.
Before you start
- You need the Admin role.
- Know which field you want to change. Only fields you change are applied; the rest stay as they are on each parameter.
Steps
- 1
Select the parameters. On Parameters, tick the rows you want. Use Type to show one kind only, and Select All to tick everything shown.
- 2
Open bulk edit. With two or more rows ticked, click Bulk Edit. Every field starts at "leave unchanged".
- 3
Change what you need.
- Any selection: Sampling, Scaling, Offset, Precision (0 to 6).
- All Modbus: also Function Code, Data Type and Byte Order, and Slave ID when they all share one Slave ID.
- All SDI-12: also SDI-12 Sensor ID, Request Type, Request Num (0 to 9).
- 4
Apply. Click Apply. It stays greyed until you change a field.
Check it worked
The changed columns (Sampling, Format, Scale, Offset, Prec) show the new values on every ticked row.
If something goes wrong
- Byte Order alone is ambiguous: pick a Data Type too. Choose a Data Type with the Byte Order.
- Slave ID can only be changed when all selected parameters share one Slave ID. Select parameters from one device only.
- To delete many at once, tick them and click Delete Selected, then confirm.
