API access
The ways to take data off a station, and which one to choose.
A station can hand its data on in four ways. Pick by who needs the data and how often.
| You need | Use | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Live values in a SCADA system or PLC, polled every few seconds | The station's Modbus slave | Modbus slave register map |
| A file of past data, now and then | Data downloads from the console, or a USB drive | Data downloads |
| Charts, alerts and reports | Aeron Cloud upload to Live3 | Cloud upload |
| Data arriving in your own cloud or server automatically | Cloud destinations (firmware 4.1 and later) | Cloud destinations |
All four carry the same parameters, in the order set on the Parameters page, rounded to each parameter's number of decimals. A value whose sensor has stopped answering is sent as NaN in all of them, unless you choose the older behaviour of 0 on the Device page. See How data flows.
The station has no REST API of its own. Once its data is in Live3, your programs can read it through the Live3 Data API.
