Download data
Take raw or logged data off the station for a date and time range, as a ZIP of CSV files.
Goal: you have a ZIP of CSV files with the station's readings for the period you want.
Before you start
- Any role can download (User, Admin or Factory).
- Know whether you want logged data (one record per logging interval, for example every minute) or raw data (a reading every second). See How data flows.
- Large ranges of raw data take time to build. Ask for what you need.
Steps
- 1
Open the Data Download tab. Go to Data output and open Data Download.
- 2
Set the range. Under Historical Data Download, choose From Date and To Date, and optionally From Time and To Time (24-hour HH:MM). A blank start time means 00:00 and a blank end time means 23:59.
- 3
Download. Click Download Logged Data or Download Raw Data. The file is built on the station and opens in a new browser tab, so you can keep working. Leave that tab open until the file is saved.
On stations with an SD card slot, SD Card Data Download takes the copy kept on the card: choose the dates and click Download SD Raw Data or Download SD Logged Data. Files on the card are encrypted, so download them here rather than reading the card in a computer.
Check it worked
The ZIP holds one or more CSV files, split the way the station stores them. Times are the station's local time. The columns and file names are explained on Data downloads.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Please select both From and To dates | Fill in both dates. |
| From date/time must be before To date/time | Swap the dates or times. |
| Another download is in progress on this device. Please try again shortly. | The station builds one download at a time. Wait and try again. |
| No CSV files found in date range | Nothing was logged then. Widen the range, or check logging on Device, Storage tab. |
To send data somewhere automatically instead, see Send data to your cloud.
