Commissioning
The checklist that says whether a station is finished. Every credential a station needs before it ships, what each one is for, and fetching the ones that come from Live3.
A station needs a set of credentials before it can work with Live3: to prove who it is, to let people sign in, to accept firmware updates and to allow remote support. The Commissioning page lists all of them in one place and answers one question: is this station ready to ship?
Who can open it: Factory only. It is used by Aeron production and service staff. On firmware 4.1 and later.
Verdict
The top card shows how many credentials the station holds, for example 9 of 11, and a verdict:
- Ready to ship: the station holds all of them.
- Not ready: how many are missing and what to do next. For example, that some are still to fetch from Live3, or that a missing one can only come from the firmware image, so the unit has to be reflashed rather than fetched.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fetch all | Fetches every missing credential that comes from Live3, in order. |
| Check all | Checks again which credentials are present. |
A yellow note appears when something blocks fetching for the whole station:
| Note | What to do |
|---|---|
| The serial number (USN) is not programmed yet. Program it first. | Set the USN on Device, General. |
| This station has no internet connection, so it cannot reach Live3. | Connect the station on the Network page. |
Credential list
One row per credential, in the order they have to be fetched: each needs only the ones above it.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Credential | The name, a green dot when present, or a red dot and Missing. |
| Made from | Where the credential comes from: Live3, the Station itself, or the Firmware image. |
| Details | What it needs first, what is in the way (Waiting on: ...), and how to fix a missing one. |
| Buttons | Fetch for credentials that come from Live3 (shows Fetched once present), and Check to look again. |
Only credentials that come from Live3 can be fetched here. Ones the station makes itself appear once its services have started. Ones in the firmware image cannot be fixed on this page: the unit needs to be flashed again.
What each credential is for
| Credential | Comes from | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Live3 device token | Live3 | The station's own identity with Live3. Nothing syncs and no remote support session can open without it. Live3 issues it once per station; a second unit asking for the same serial number is refused. |
| Console login salt | Live3 | Makes the passwords stored on this station unique to this station. |
| Remote-access signing key | Live3 | Lets the station check that a remote support request really comes from Live3 before it opens a session. |
| Login code secret | Live3 | Lets people sign in with the 8-character access code from the Live3 app. |
| Sign-in replay records | Firmware image | The station's record of access codes and links that have already been used, so none can be used twice. Without it the station refuses code sign-in. It is also set up again when the login code secret is fetched. |
| Firmware signing key | Live3 | Lets the station confirm that a firmware update was made by Aeron. Without it the station refuses every firmware update. |
| Bluetooth wake key | Station | What the Live3 app has to know to wake this station's Bluetooth radio. The station makes it itself at first start. |
| Hotspot password | Station | The password for the station's own Wi-Fi hotspot, handed to the Live3 app over encrypted Bluetooth. Without it the station will not start its hotspot. |
| Console key | Live3 | Keeps the station's own service sign-in unique to this unit. |
| Passwordless-login key | Live3 | Lets the station check an access link from Live3 by itself, without internet. |
| Phone commissioning anchor | Firmware image | What the station checks a technician's phone against when the phone commissions it over Bluetooth. |
Messages you may see
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Fetched. | The credential arrived. |
| Needs enrolment first. | Live3 has not been told to expect this station yet. It has to be enrolled in Live3 before the device token can be issued. |
| Waiting on: ... | A credential above this one is still missing. |
| No answer. | The station did not hear back from Live3. Check the internet connection and try again. |
