Settings

Per-station settings: the station's details, installation site and contact, and how each parameter is named and shown.

Settings holds the details that belong to one station: what it is called, where it is installed, who looks after it, and how its parameters appear across Live3. Everything on this screen applies to the station selected in the station switcher in the top bar, so switch stations there to edit another one. Members, roles and API keys are not here: Owners find them under Organization and API Keys in the account menu at the top right.

How to get there. Choose Settings in the left navigation. It has two tabs, Device Setup and Parameter Settings.

Key areas

AreaWhat it does
Station DetailsThe station's name, a description, and its timezone. The timezone decides how times are shown on Data and Analytics.
Installation DetailsThe device's phone number (optional), installation date, address, city, state, postcode, country, and latitude and longitude. Fetch from device fills in the coordinates from the station's own GPS.
Incharge DetailsThe name, phone number and email of the person responsible for the station on site.
Station summaryA read-only card with the station type, name, USN, part ID, firmware and hardware versions, manufacturing date, and subscription expiry. Renew opens an email to Aeron support to renew the subscription.
Parameter SettingsA table of the station's parameters with their unit, lower and upper limits, and measurement type. Search to find one, and click a row to edit it.

Common tasks

Rename a station or correct its timezone

  1. Pick the station in the top bar and open the Device Setup tab.
  2. Under Station Details, change the name, description or timezone.
  3. Click Save under that section. Cancel puts back the saved values.

Each section (station, installation, incharge) has its own Save button, and saves only its own fields.

Record where a station is installed

  1. Open Device Setup and go to Installation Details.
  2. Fill in the address fields and the installation date.
  3. Click Fetch from device to take the latitude and longitude from the station's GPS, or type them in. If the station has not reported a GPS position yet, Live3 says so.
  4. Click Save. The station then appears at that position on the Map.

Change how a parameter is named and shown

  1. Open the Parameter Settings tab and find the parameter.
  2. Click it to open the editor. You can change its icon, its caption (the name shown on the dashboard, in Data and in downloads), what it measures, its unit, and its lower and upper limits.
  3. Click Save changes.

The lower and upper limits are the guide lines that the Limits option draws on Analytics charts.

Some users can view a station's details but not change them. If the fields are locked, the screen says so: ask your organization's admin to make the change.
