Accounts, access and deletion

How to remove someone from your organization, and how to delete your own account.

One Aeron account reaches every product you have been given: Aeron Zero on the web, and Live3 on the web and as a mobile app. So removing someone, and deleting an account, work the same way wherever you start. This page covers both.

Removing someone is not deleting them

These are two different things, and mixing them up is how organizations lose work they needed.

Removing someone is what you do when a colleague leaves or changes job. Their access ends immediately, and everything else stays: the account record, the dashboards and reports they built for the organization, their station assignments, and the history of what they did. It can be undone by making them active again. This is what an administrator does, and it is not a deletion.

Deleting an account is permanent, and it is a request the person makes about their own account. It removes their profile and everything personal to them. An administrator cannot do this to someone else, and does not need to.

The one exception is an invitation nobody ever accepted. There is no history to keep, so an administrator can delete it outright and free the email address for a new invite.

Remove someone from your organization

You need to be an owner or administrator of the organization.

In Aeron Zero

  1. 1

    Open your people list.

    Go to Organization → People.

  2. 2

    Deactivate them.

Find the person and choose Deactivate on their row, then confirm. They lose access to every Aeron product immediately.

Deactivated people stay in the list rather than disappearing from it, marked as deactivated. That is deliberate: “why does this person still hold a seat” is a question you should be able to answer. To give access back, use Activate on the same row.

In Live3

  1. 1

    Open the members list.

On the web, go to Organization → Members. In the mobile app, go to the More tab and tap Organization.

  2. 2

    Remove them.

Open the actions menu on their row and choose Remove from organization. Live3 shows you what is kept before you confirm.

What you cannot do, and why

  • You cannot remove the last remaining owner of an organization. An organization with no owner cannot invite anyone, reset a password, or manage its stations. Promote someone else first.
  • You cannot remove yourself. Ask another owner, or delete your own account as below.
  • You cannot remove an Aeron Systems staff account from your organization. Contact support@aeronsystems.com.

Delete your own account

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. You do not need to contact us first.

Before you start

  • If you are an owner or administrator and your organization still has other people in it, remove them first. The deletion will be refused and you will be told why.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your organization’s agreement with Aeron. Get in touch if that is what you need.

In the Live3 mobile app

  1. 1

    Open your profile.

Go to the More tab and tap Profile.

  2. 2

    Choose Delete account.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete account.

  3. 3

    Confirm.

Type DELETE to enable the button, then confirm. You are signed out as soon as it finishes, and you will not be able to sign in again.

On the web, or if you cannot sign in

Email support@aeronsystems.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will check the request is genuinely yours before acting on it, and complete it within 30 days. You do not need to install or reinstall any app to make the request.

What is deleted, and what is kept

DeletedYour profile: name, email address, phone number, designation, address and profile photo. Your dashboards, saved reports and report history. Your alert rules and the phone numbers they notify. Your graph presets, parameter groups and display settings. Your station assignments. Your Aeron sign-in. None of this can be recovered.
KeptYour stations, their measurements and their configuration. These belong to the organization that owns them, not to any one person, so deleting your account does not remove them and does not affect anyone else in your organization.

We also keep the security log of actions taken on those stations: who changed a setting, assigned a station, or exported a report, and when. Indian law (the CERT-In Directions of April 2022) requires us to retain system logs for 180 days. For that period those entries continue to show your email address. After 180 days your name and email are replaced by an anonymous marker, and the entry keeps only what was done and when.

If your organization’s data needs removing as well, that is a separate request and has to come from the organization. Email support@aeronsystems.com.

Privacy

Our privacy policy sets out what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

Live3 does not collect your location. The Android app asks for the location permission only because Android requires it before an app may connect to a weather station’s Wi-Fi hotspot. No position is read, stored, or sent anywhere.

Getting help

For anything else, email support@aeronsystems.com and we will reply within two working days. For sales or a hardware fault, email sales@aeronsystems.com. It helps if you include the email address you sign in with, and for the mobile app your phone, its Android or iOS version, and the app version shown at the bottom of the More tab.
